2014 Los Angeles Auto Show: Chrysler 300 Sedan Adds V-8 Engine

The new 2015 Chrysler 300 talks a big game when it comes to outdoing competitors--and delivers with class-leading fuel economy, horsepower and torque.

What is it?

The restyled sedan, which is offered in the 300 Limited, 300S, 300C and 300C Platinum variants, has an updated fascia and a taller grille and comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard for the first time.

With the 5.7-liter V-8 engine option, the updated sedan generates 363 horsepower and 394 pound-feet of torque, while hitting 60 mph in less than 6 seconds. Chrysler 300 models equipped with a V-8 engine boast a best-in-class driving range, getting an EPA-estimated 16 miles per gallon in city driving and 25 mpg on the highway.

What is changed?

Besides the new V-8 and standard eight-speed gearbox, the refreshed 300 lineup offers advanced technology including a forward collision warning system that can automatically put on the brakes before a crash. Chrysler is also launching adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning systems for the 300 to guard against collisions.

Can I buy it?

Production is slated for this quarter, and the new 300 lineup is expected to arrive at dealerships in early spring of 2015. The 300 Limited starts at $32,390, including shipping fees; the 300S begins at $35,890 with shipping; the 300C has a starting price of $38,890 including destination fees; and the 300C Platinum starts at $43,390.
