Spoiler Alert: This Is the Best Car Commercial of the Year
In our minds, no video production is truly complete without a cast including a car as the star.
That's the premise of the latest car commercial from Wieden+Kennedy for Honda, and we think it's the best car commercial of recent memory. Not since BMW's "The Hire," created in the pre-YouTube era, has a car taken on the role of theatrical hero and its foil.
This ad features the 2015 Honda Civic and Civic Type-R, a stylish hatchback sold in Europe related to—but not the same as—the Civic sold in the United States. We've long pined to see the Civic as an action hero, so let's just say we were satisfied with the camerawork.

Although the ad runs worldwide, we're unlikely to see the Civic hatchback in the U.S. any time soon. Despite rumors to the contrary, a representative from Honda confirmed yesterday that there are no plans to bring the European Civic Type-R to the United States—noting that such a move, however, would make a lot of enthusiasts happy.
