Chevrolet unveiled its adventurous new Colorado Sport concept at the State Fair of Texas on Thursday, outfitting it with a pair of mountain bikes and a weekend's worth of gear.

"It's not just mountain bikes, but just about any passion you can name, from kayaking, fishing, dirt bikes and more," said Tony Johnson, Colorado marketing manager in a statement. "It's a truck for those who need the versatility of a pickup to support their work and lifestyle interests, but don't need a full-size truck to do it."

The 2015 truck comes available in extended- or crew-cab models, with a choice of a 2.5L four-cylinder or 3.6L V-6 engine, according to GM.

The Colorado's 2.5L is the segment's most efficient, with an EPA-estimated 27 mpg on the highway (2WD models). The 3.6L V-6 is the most powerful, at 305 horsepower.

If that wasn't enough, it also claims the segment's highest trailering rating, 7,000 pounds, when properly equipped, according to the automaker.

Interested owners will see that the interior is tailored to meet the needs of today's midsize truck customers. The Colorado offers features found in cars and crossovers like Chevy MyLink with a built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. Segment-first applications include Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision Alert to keep occupants safe, according to the automaker.

Easier cargo loading can be expected, thanks to an easy lift-and-lower tailgate and rear bumper assist steps.

The Colorado's adjustable GearOn Accessory System is being called the "heart" of the Sport concept's package, which allows consumers to store larger items like bikes and kayaks above the bed, leaving room for smaller items like coolers inside the bed.

Other accessories on the truck includes:

-Assist steps

-Bike rack

-Cargo rings

-Cargo divider

-Splash guards

-Tiered storage

-Wheel lip moldings

Prices for the 2015 Colorado start at $20,995 for a four-door extended cab model with a 200-horsepower four-cylinder engine.
