2014 Super Bowl: 'Car Bowl' Pits Seattle vs. Denver

Feb 01, 2014 11:31 AM EST | Jordan Ecarma

The 2014 Super Bowl will be a day for great snacks, time with family and friends, million-dollar commercials--oh, and football, of course.

But before they gear up for game day, auto fans should take a look at a "Car Bowl" study that examines the two cities competing at this year's Super Bowl.

In the Seattle vs. Denver study from iSeeCars.com, the two cities had different ideas when it came to what consumers look for in a car.

Seattle, Wash., car buyers were "more eco-friendly, loyal and faster" while shoppers in Denver, Colo., bought "bigger, more patriotic and price-conscious" vehicles.

Analyzing 30 million car listings for sale around the country in the last year, the Car Bowl study ranked major cities to see what shoppers look for.

Seattle was ranked fifth among large cities for buying more eco-friendly vehicles with more than 30 miles per gallon. The city came eight spots ahead of Denver, which was ranked 13th in the country.

Buyers in Seattle also seemed more loyal to their team, purchasing more green cars than Denver, according to the study.

While the two cities have decidedly different ideas when it comes to cars, the biggest distinction was in size: Denver was ranked No. 1 for having more SUVs and trucks, while Seattle was much further down the list at No. 28.

Here's the full study from iSeeCars.com, provided to AutoWorldNews.
