How Did Underage Justin Bieber Rent This Exotic Car?

Justin Bieber's escapade with a rented Lamborghini left the 19-year-old pop star under arrest  and the media world in an uproar.

The singer's drag racing adventure, which may result in prison time, begs many questions, but one stands out for car fans: How did Bieber rent a Lamborghini when he's under rental age and has an expired license?

For drivers with plenty of money, gratifying a penchant for exotic rides isn't too difficult, according to a Jalopnik report.

In the Miami area, where Bieber was arrested for allegedly drag racing and DUI, most exotic car rental companies require renters to be at least 25 or 21 with an up-charge, Jalopnik said.

At 19, Bieber definitely doesn't meet the age requirement, and he has a suspended license to boot. How did he score a drive in the yellow Lamborghini that was reportedly caught drag racing a Ferrari?

Jalopnik talked to Matt Farah of The Smoking Tire, who works with exotic and luxury car rental company Gotham Dream Cars.

Farah told the outlet, "if homie was from Canada with a suspended license I wouldn't have rented him a car. We turn people down all the time for bad paperwork. Plus, we don't rent to anyone under 25."

Gotham and other rental companies have requirements that the driver "must be over 25 with valid license, comprehensive insurance coverage, and a $5,000 security deposit."

Farah's best guess is that the exotic car was legally rented by one of Bieber's bodyguards before the "One Time" singer took it for a spin.

"I think it's much more likely someone at the rental company just said 'here bodyguard x, you're of age, we'll rent to you' and bodyguard x just handed the keys over," Farah told Jalopnik. "But [Bieber] also gets into every nightclub so it seems most people would think the risk is worth it to be associated with his name."

Since the car was legally rented but driven by an unauthorized driver (Bieber), the rental company could sue, Farah said.
