Pop star Justin Bieber was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence and drag racing earlier this morning, said Miami Beach, Florida police spokesman Bobby Hernandez, according to CNN.
Bieber, 19, flew to Miami on Jan. 20, according to TMZ.
Bieber was pulled over driving a yellow Lamborghini that was seen drag racing a Ferrari at a residential area of Miami Beach.
Hernandez said Bieber showed "signs of impairment" a failed a field sobriety test. He was then booked on a drunken driving charge.
"(The vehicles) actually blocked the traffic at 26th and Pine Street so that they could race on Pine Street, almost making it like a makeshift race track," Hernandez said, according to CNN.
The driver of the Ferrari was an "associate" of the "Boyfriend" signer, who was also arrested on drunken driving charge. The other driver has been identified as Khalil Amir Sharieff, according to ABC News.
The incident took place around 4 a.m. when police spotted Bieber's rented Lamborghini and the Ferrari.
Bieber was also arrested on charges of resisting arrest without violence and driving on an expired license. The resisting arrest charge was added because Bieber refused to take his hands out of his pockets when an officer asked him to.
This is the first time Bieber has been arrested but hardly the first time he's been in trouble.
An investigation is currently underway based on claims that Bieber egged a neighbor's house in California.
Last week Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies used a felony search warrant to raid Bieber's mansion in the vandalism investigation.
Police reportedly seized Bieber's iPhone and the security camera system, which detectives have been looking over for clues as to who tossed eggs over a fence that caused over $20,000 worth of damages, according to CNN.
"We didn't do this search warrant to send a message," Sheriff's Lt. David Thompson said last week, according to CNN. "That's not what we do, but we hope maybe that understanding the gravity of this will change some of the behavior."
