Anyone who has trouble keeping track of time might want to try the new Durr concept watch, a wristwatch that buzzes every five minutes.
According to creators Theo Tveterås and Lars Marcus Vedeler, the concept wristwatch deals with people's perception of time, Yahoo! Tech reported.
The Durr website labels the concept watch, which has a solid color front plate instead of a face, "A shivering unisex bracelet that investigates our perception of five minutes."
Wearers won't find out the exact time from the Durr watch, but they will realize how slowly or quickly moments are passing.
"By perpetually pinging you every five minutes, the Durr will, at the very least, make you aware that life carries on at the same speed, no matter what you fill your time doing," Yahoo said.
The watch, which goes for $120 and is currently out of stock, comes in five colors: fjord blue, asphalt, banana yellow, frosty green and cooked salmon.
Its chassis and fastening mechanism are hand-dyed and sintered in polyamide, while the strap is Norwegian leather, according to the Durr website.
The watch is not waterproof, the website cautioned, and the amount of time between "shivers" can't be adjusted. The creators say on the website that they tried other increments such as 2 minutes or a quarter of an hour, but "about five minutes is perfect for its purpose."
And what exactly is that purpose?
Tveterås told Wired in a recent interview that the watch adds a rhythm to the wearer's day, creating blocks of time small enough that the wearer can consider what happened during that interval.
As the website says, "With Durr you become aware of how your brain alters the length of a bus ride, how fast you finish a beer, how time flies by when you enjoy yourself, and drags along when you wait in line at the post office."
