Apple's next iPhone will supposedly not have a curved display screen despite months of rumors that it will, according to a report by CNet.com.
The article, which cites Kim Jong-hyun, an analyst at Seoul-based Eugene Investment & Securities, said that the display currently found on Samsung's Galaxy Round will not be used for the next iPhone nor the next Samsung Galaxy device.
Samsung Display and LG Display supposedly are "unable" to create enough screens for their current curved phones as it is, according to CNet.com.
Jong-hyun said it would be hard for Apple to create a curved display for its next major device, though he wouldn't rule out the iPhone company from doing so by 2015.
He feels that Samsung could release a curved device as a "Galaxy variant" instead of a flagship model, according to CNet.com.
"The current capacity for flexible panels is not high enough for the Galaxy S5, which will be rolled out early next year," Kim Jong-hyun, an analyst at Seoul-based Eugene Investment & Securities, said to The Herald. "Curved ones will be unveiled late next year as a Galaxy variant rather than as a flagship model."
Earlier this week, a report started circulating that Apple could release its iPhone 6 as early as May 2014. The company released its iPhone 5S and 5C this past September, which would mean three devices in under a year.
Apple is supposedly testing two screen sizes currently: a 4.7-inch device with 720x1280 resolution, and a massive 5.7-inch display with HD 1080p resolution.
