The first retail 2015 Ford Mustang GT will be auctioned off this January with the proceeds going towards diabetes research.
No reserve is being offered for the Mustang GT, according to Ford.
The GT will be sold at Barrett-Jackson's Scottsdale, Arizona on January 18.
The winning bidder of the Mustang will be allowed to personalize the vehicle with any available Mustang GT options. Options will include an automatic or manual transmission, along with any exterior, interior, and stripe color combination.
"Ford Mustangs have always been among the most popular collector cars at Barrett-Jackson Collector Car events," said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson Auction Company, in a statement.
The team involved in developing and designing the new Mustang will personally sign the car in "appreciation of the donation to JDRF," according to Edmunds. JDRF is the top global organization funding type 1 diabetes research.
The car will be delivered after production of the new Mustang begins, according to Ford.
Ford unveiled its newest Mustang on Dec. 5 in cities around the world like New York, Michigan, Los Angeles, and Sydney. It also appeared on the "Good Morning America" television show the same day.
The 2015 model will be the first Mustang sold in Europe and Asia, though most sales are still expected to come from North America.
