A new bug which happens to affect the Google Pixel and Pixel XL were recently reported. The latest bug inadvertently turns off the Bluetooth function without any input from the user.
Several Reddit threads were reported regarding the latest bug for both Google Pixel and Pixel XL, as well as the Google's Pixel community support websites. Various comments coming from Google Pixel users state that their devices turn off its Bluetooth function without them even touching any button, according to Phone Arena.
The issue has annoyed some users, especially those who are using Bluetooth-enabled headsets when doing hands-free call. Based on reports from users who have experienced the issue, the Pixel bug appears to occur in random and users have yet to create a pattern that could explain why or how the issue could be triggered.
Tech giant Google has yet to acknowledge the existence of this bug, this is despite thousands of complaints from various tech outlets. Google is still fresh from fixing a recent Pixel bug that causes certain devices to shut down once their battery level is at the 30 percent charge level. Google has already acknowledged the battery issue and stated that a software patch will be released soon to fix the issue.
Some tech analysts said that the Bluetooth issue on some Google Pixel and Pixel XL devices started to surface following the roll out of the February 2017 security patch update. This sounds ironic as security patches are supposed to fix certain loopholes to keep devices secure, and not open up bugs like this latest Google Pixel bug.
According to Android Authority, a Google employee have mentioned that they are aware of the bug and that a patch will be rolled out soon for Google Pixel and Pixel XL but the company has yet to officially confirm it. As of this writing, no workaround has been devised to somehow mitigate the occurrence of the issue.
