The Nissan Rogue was first introduced in 2007 at the Detroit Auto Show and has undergone a second generation upgrade in 2013 which was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. In September 2016 at the Miami International Auto Show, Nissan introduced the new 2017 Rogue Hybrid crossover which is now considered by many as the best crossover hybrid.
As explained by Top Speed, the Nissan Rogue has traditionally been powered since 2007 by a four-cylinder gasoline engine but because the present car industry trends favor hybrid cars, Nissan has equipped the new 2017 Rogue with the hybrid option. In 2016, the Nissan Rogue has climbed to the top as one of the most sellable SUV crossovers and hopes to maintain its advantage with the introduction of the 2017 Rogue Hybrid.
With regards to competition as a hybrid, the closest competitor of the 2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid is the Toyota Rav 4 and as an SUV crossover, it competes with Honda CR-V for the top spot. Nissan has done significant upgrades in the 2017 Rouge.
The first notable change is in the style of the car's body. While the V-Motion grill with polished chrome is maintained, the grills go through the upper bumper and the lower bumper creating a bowtie design. The headlights are much thinner and longer and the shape of the fog lights is now square instead of round.
Inside the car, the design is practically similar but the types of materials and finishes installed were of the highest quality. The soft dashboard, the detailed shift knob, and the three-spoke steering wheel with thumb operated controls are features to be appreciated.
The only crossover hybrid that can compete with the 2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid in looks is the Toyota Rav 4. If the body specs are compared, The Nissan Rogue Hybrid is longer, higher and wider with a longer wheelbase and wider track front. These are just a few reasons why the 2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid is considered the best crossover hybrid today.
