Foxconn is expected to ship out orders for approximately 90 million iPhone 6 devices this year, according to Chinese publication Commercial Times,
The publication spoke with Citigroup Global Markets analyst Wei Chen recently, and he feels the next iPhone will increase Apple's iPhone sales a great deal in 2014.
Last week, it was reported that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSMC) had started producing chips for Apple's next iPhone device.
This would likely mean Apple is looking to get rid of Samsung as its main chip supplier.
The microchip maker reportedly started producing A8 chips in February, likely to make sure Apple has enough iPhone devices once it is released.
A release date has not been formally announced for the phone, but rumors have ranged from May through September 2014.
The 20-nanometer A8 will include a quad-core 64-bit processor and quad-core graphics.
Apple has yet to confirm any rumors regarding its next iPhone device, including its name. Most analyst feel it's safe to say though that the device will be called the iPhone 6, and it will have a display size close to 5-inches.
Last week, Mizuho Securities analyst Abhey Lamba said he believes Apple will release not one, but two new devices, ranging in sizes between 4.7- and 5.5-inches, according to DigiTimes.
The new iPhone will likely feature a sapphire crystal display as well, which is harder and more scratch-resistant material than the Corning Gorilla Glass which Apple uses for its iPhone devices currently. There are some disadvantages to this feature however.
"We see a lot of disadvantages of sapphire vs. Gorilla Glass," Corning Corporate Controller Tony Tripeny said on a conference call with analysts this week, according to Investors.com. "It's about 10 times more expensive. It's about 1.6 times heavier. It's environmentally unfriendly. It takes about 100 times more energy to generate a sapphire crystal than it does glass. It transmits less light, which means either dimmer devices or shorter battery life."
Other features that have been discussed by many media outlets includes an increase in RAM and an improved 3.2 MP front camera.
The rear camera will likely remain at 8MP, according DigiTimes.
Apple sold over 51 million iPhones in 2013. The company released its iPhone 5S and 5C in September 2013.
