The 2014 Nissan Sentra small car has earned a four-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, according to the automaker.
Nissan's new vehicle received five stars in the side crash test, four stars in the rollover crash test, and four stars in the front crash test.
The Sentra competes with similar vehicles like the Ford Focus, Honda Civic, and the Hyundai Elantra.
Five stars is the highest rating a vehicle can earn for the crash tests.
Nissan sells the base vehicle for $15,990.
The Sentra is equipped with a number of Safety features like six airbags, traction control, stability control, and antilock brakes.
The 2014 Sentra also received "good" ratings in all Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash tests, but did earn a "poor" rating in the small overlap front crash test however.
The small overlap front crash test was created to see how vehicles would handle if its front corner hits with another vehicle or an object like a tree, according to the IIHS.
