The 2014 Acura MDX and RDX received top five-star scores in crash tests conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Both vehicles received five-star scores for the frontal and side impact crash tests, and scored four stars for rollover resistance, according to the automaker.
The redesigned MDX offers lane departure warning, braking and blind spot information, forward collision warning, and collision mitigation.
The 2014 Buick Enclave, which is considered to be the MDX's main completion, earned the same safety rating from NHTSA.
Two other MDX rivals, 2014 Volvo XC90 and the 2014 BMW X5, have not been rated by NHTSA yet.
One of the RDX's competitors, The 2014 Cadillac SRX, earned a five-star overall rating from NHTSA. The SRX received five stars in the side impact crash test, four stars in the rollover crash test, and four stars in the frontal crash test.
The MDX and RDX have not yet been rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
