Eleanor Mustang From ‘Gone in 60 Seconds’ Auctioned for $1 Million (VIDEO)

The 1967 Ford Mustang used in the hit movie "Gone in 60 Seconds" sold at auction last week for approximately $1 million.

The car was sold during the Dana Mecum 26th Original Spring Classic Auction in Indianapolis according to MotorAuthority.com.

The vehicle, known as "Eleanor," was driven by actor Nicholas Cage in the film, thought it was mainly used for close ups and promotional events back when the film was first released.

No details have been revealed regarding the winner as of press time.

The model was constructed by Cinema Vehicle Services with assistance from coachbuilder Chip Foose.

Approximately 11 versions of the vehicle were constructed, though only three were fully functional and two were destroyed during filming according to auction website.

The Mustang comes with a number of features like a four-speed manual transmission, a lowered suspension, and 17-inch wheels with Goodyear F1 tires.

Other features include centrally-mounted driving lights, a 351 Ford V-8 crate engine capable of producing 400 horsepower, and a custom designed hood and trunk according to MotorAuthority.

The hit film starred Cage, Angelina Jolie, and Robert Duvall was released in 2000. The movie made $237,202,298 in the box office according to IMDB.
