"Rick and Morty" season 3 episode 1 dropped on April 1 and to the disappointment of fans, no more followed. Episode 2 was expected to air on April 8, since new episodes are typically released on the same day every week, but it turns out that it is not airing until summer.

What was previously thought to be an April Fool's joke turned out to be a wonderful surprise to fans who have been waiting for "Rick and Morty" season 3 for over a year now. However, that's all Adult Swim has to offer to loyal viewers. The rest of the season is not coming until this summer.

A tweet from the show's official account revealed that the rest is "to come this summer." A teaser video, seen below, corroborates the claims. At the 11-second mark, it says "New season coming this summer."

This hints that "Rick and Morty" season 3 is far from being finished. It is likely that the first episode was just released to satisfy viewers who have been expecting it to air in April according to Mr. Poopybutthole's prediction.

The character, who appeared at the end of season 2's last episode in October 2015, revealed that the show is coming back a year and a half later, putting the launch date in April 2017. True enough, the first episode aired but only as a tease.

As for "Rick and Morty" season 3 episode 2's release date, it is expected to be in July. Season 2 also premiered in July in 2015, so it is likely for the next season to follow suit. Also, Spring ends in late June, so a brand new season of the cartoon is just the thing to start summer with.

"Rick and Morty" season 3 episode 2 is titled "Rickmancing the Stone" and it will feature the mad scientist and his grandson confronting their problems. After the successful escape from prison, what kind of adventures will the duo have from now on?
