2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Upgrades Preview

The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is the company's best-selling model in the United States. Recently, news broke out about its upgrades and updates.

Earlier this week, Mitsubishi has unveiled the new 2018 Outlander Sport. This took fans by surprise the unveiling is a week ahead of the New York International Auto Show.

With the new model, the Outlander Sport will get new features. Now, the compact crossover will get a makeover with its new front bumper, headlight, and grilles feature LED running lights.

It will also have new rear lights and bumper cap. The rear bumper has been reshaped, and it now looks sporty. As for the rest of the sheet metal, it will be the same as the current model.

The redesigned "Dynamic Shield" front fascia also carries over to this year's model. There will be a mesh style grill as a replacement to the horizontal vanes found on the current model.

This new grille gives it a subtle visual tweak. Inside, the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is even better.

The upper level trims such as the SEL now has a 7.0-inch digital infotainment display. It is compatible with Apple Car Play and Android Auto.

There are also new features which the passengers could access using the Smartphone Link. There will also be a Touring package which includes automated emergency braking, automatic high-beams and a forward-collision warning.

It also features lane-departure warning and a rearview camera. As for the powertrain, it was reported that it will be the same as last year's model.

That would be a 2.0-liter I4 standard engine and an optional 2.4-liter. As of the moment, the pricing for the Mitsubishi Outlander has yet to be announced.

However, several car experts are telling potential buyers to expect the starting price to be around $21,000. Expect the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport to be in showrooms this fall.
