Samsung Galaxy S8 Features That You Can’t Find On iPhone Devices: The Smartphone War Is On

Samsung Galaxy S8 is finally here and it is making headlines, and of course, heads turn when it was introduced in New York. It packed with high-tech features that will make any iPhone user cringe, per se. So, let's check out the impressive features cramped together in one single smartphone.

First off is that this is the first smartphone to feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835. This is the newest and fastest processor from Qualcomm. This processor has the ability to connect to Gigabit LTE-class speeds, which is a benchmark trend in every US carrier in 2017. In fact, according to a recent test on the Samsung Galaxy S8, the US tech giant, Apple, might finally realize that Samsung is still a force to be reckoned with despite the Note 7 disaster.

Now, speaking of Gigabit LTE, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is the first every smartphone that will be able to tap into network speeds as high as 300 Mbps. This is basically 18 times or faster, even, that speeds posted by T-Mobile and Verizon. For example, a 2-hour movie only takes a 15-second download. Imagine that.

Thirdly, what people are also talking about is the phone's massive display. This is all thanks to the removal of the home button and most of the phone's edges around the screen.

Compared with the iPhone 7 with its 4.7-inch screen and the 7 Plus with its 5.5-inch screen, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ have 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch screens, respectively, which seems like bordering phablet territory. Well, bigger is better, right?

Fourth is the phone's iris scanner and facial recognition features that can be used to unlock the phone. Now, the facial recognition feature is much faster than the iris or fingerprint scanner by the way in unlocking your devices.

However, concerns were raised because users have reported that they can unlock the phone with the use of a picture. Although the company noted that the iris scanner is more secure than the fingerprint scanner, which is the only feature present in the iPhone. Of course, you have options on which security feature you would use, so you be the judge of that.

Jack is alive as the fifth amazing feature ever present in the Galaxy S8 which is missing on the iPhone 7 device. Poor Rose. You can finally plug your standard headphones to your S8.

Now, the sixth feature is out of this world. Finally, with the use of a wireless charging pad, you can charge of course the S8. Also, there is a fast charging feature that, of course, charges the device much faster.

Samsung digital assistant, called Bixby, has a smart camera feature, which of course Siri lacks. It lets you take photos of real-world objects and then it give you relevant information such as links to nearby locations, etc.

Make payments with the use of your S8. Both S8 variants are equipped with Samsung Pay supports, available in 870 banks worldwide. In fact, this has been used in more than 240 million transactions since the phone's launch. Apple needs a special NFC pad like those with Apple Pay.

VR will be the next best thing in the near future. So, for those who have preordered the S8 just before April 21, then they get a free Gear VR headset, as the S8 comes with its own VR software powered by Facebook's Oculus. On the other hand, iPhone devices can, in fact, work with some VR headsets but it doesn't support VR natively.

And then you can run a desktop version of your S8's OS on a regular PC by simply attaching the S8 to a monitor, mouse, and keyboard with the help of a special dock. For iPhone devices, users can only mirror the screen for external display.

Samsung has indeed stepped up and poured everything into their first flagship device following the disaster, that is, the Note 7, which cost them more than their reputation. So, what do you think of the Samsung Galaxy S8? Does it satisfy your desires of a modern-day smartphone? And will Apple be able to amp up their game with the upcoming unveiling of the iPhone 8? Stay tuned.
