A massive sandstorm caused President Barack Obama to forgo a helicopter ride to the Bethlehem according to a report by Haaretz.

Earlier in the day, Obama toured Yad Vashem, Israel's well-known museum dedicated to the Holocaust. The weather was sunny and clear as he made his way to the museum, but things got worse by the time he was done according to a report by The Washington Times.

Hours later, "violent" winds and flying sand made helicopter travel to Bethlehem no longer an option.

Instead, the president decided to travel by car, as Bethlehem is only a 30-minute drive from Jerusalem. His 30-car motorcade was forced to travel "slowly" as most of the route involved driving on steep hills.

The motorcade "barely moved" at all at certain points on their journey to Jerusalem according to a report by The New York Post.

Once Obama cleared checkpoint to get into Bethlehem, the president visited the Church of the Nativity, which is long believed to be the site where Jesus was born.

This is the second transportation issue Obama has dealt with during his historic three-day trip to Israel. Just a day earlier, Obama's customized limo known as the "Beast" broke down hours before the president arrived.

Another limo had to be sent to pick the president up at the airport.

The limo broke down after being filled with diesel by mistake shortly after arriving in the country. The president's ride features bulletproof glass, doors, and windows that seal shut in the event of a gas attack. It's also equipped with "multiple" inches of armor and special shocks designed to handle blasts.
