The comparative analysis was done based on styling, overall appeal, driving experience and brand image. There were nine analysts who conducted the test by beginning with the basic criteria of $399/month lease, turbocharged 2.0-litter four-cylinder engine and four doors.
The comparative tests were done travelling thousands of miles trying to abuse the car to test its maximum capacity. The experts took weeks of studying and analyzing the nine contenders.
In terms of driving experience, the Alfa Romeo Giulia has outsmarted the other eight compact luxury sports sedans. This model accelerated really fast and yet was still able to provide a comfortable ride. The expert enjoyed the Alfa Romeo Giulia's quick steering and responses. The chassis also supported the comfortable ride by eliminating every bump feel. In fact, the Alfa Romeo Giulia became a favorite from the majority of drivers who tested the 9 compact luxury sports sedans.
Ranking second to the Alfa Romeo Giulia is the Cadillac ATS 2.0T. The steering wheel and chassis of the Cadillac ATS 2.0T proved its powerful worth although it offered a little less luxury in the quality of the ride.
Unfortunately, it was the BMW 330i that gave the least comfort and speed compared with the other eight contenders. Although it provided comfort during the rigorous ride, it was not as outstanding as the other contenders.
Moreover, the drivers had difficulty handling the steering wheel of the BMW 330i. Experts from MotorTrend say the brand has not improved this long-overdue issue until now.
