Toyota has kept its promise of releasing a hot hatch. At the 2017 Geneva Motor show, Toyota unveiled the latest Yaris GRMN, a supercharged hot hatch.

According to Carscoops, the latest iteration of the Yaris GRMN has been designed as the "road-going counterpart to the rally machine Toyota fields in the WRC." The Yaris has also been tuned by Toyota's performance division, and GRMN stands for "Gazoo Racing, Masters of the Nürburgring."

Toyota also stayed true to its word, and the Yaris GMRN comes with a forced-induction 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. However, while most of its rivals are turbocharged, the Yaris GRMN goes with a supercharger. The Yaris' 205 horsepower gallop is made possible thanks to the front wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.

The Toyota Yaris GRMN was "honed on the Nürburgring Nordschleife," and its suspension pairs short springs with Sachs shocks and a "beefy" anti-roll bar. It's packed with additional bracing, which also includes a structural bar under the hood between the front suspension towers, to contribute to the vehicle's torsional rigidity and handling.

Aside from additional bracing, Toyota's Yaris GRMN has a Torsen-style limited-slip differential that will ensure that the power gets to the tarmac. The vehicle also comes with ventilated brake discs that have four-piston calipers up front which are packed into 17-inch BBS alloys to help "keep everything in check."

The Yaris GRMN's three-door body style is covered in specific bodywork that features "fresh bumpers front and rear, a roof spoiler, and rear diffuser, with a special red and black over white livery." The interior of Toyota's Yaris GRMN has upgraded racing buckets, a leather-wrapped steering wheel like the Toyota 86, and aluminum pedals: these features guarantee that the latest Yaris is top-of-the-line.

Toyota's latest hot hatch will be the first GRMN product offered in Europe, or outside of Japan, but for now, it doesn't seem like the vehicle will be offered in North America. Do take note that the Yaris GRMN will not be available until early next year, per CarThrottle.
