Another Star Wars movie is coming out at the end of the year, and it makes sense for Nissan to continue its partnership with the galactic giant. That's why the automaker built a Star Wars themed version of its Rogue SUV. The 2017 Nissan Rogue One Star Wars Edition made its debut at the Chicago Auto Show, along with other two limited edition Star Wars versions of the Rogue.

Nissan had previously revealed the car at the Los Angeles auto show last fall, along with storm troopers, a half-scale replica of a TIE fighter, and two one-off Rogues. One was themed as an orange X-Wing pilot's jumpsuit, and the other was themed like the X-Wing fighter itself.

Jeremy Tucker, Vice President of marketing communications and media for Nissan North America, explained in a release given by the company; "The overarching goal of our alliance with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is to drive awareness for the Nissan Rogue. And during the campaign, we've not only seen online searches for the Rogue triple, but we've also seen the crossover rise to the best-selling spot in the Nissan lineup."

The 2017 Nissan Rogue One Star Wars Edition is available in Magnetic Black or Glacier White colors which the automaker call Darth Vader Black and Stormtrooper White. Nissan said that only 5,400 units are going to be manufactured and 5,000 have been earmarked for the United States with the remaining 400 going to Canada.

In addition, the car only comes in package form and is only offered for Rogue models equipped with Sun and Sound Touring Package. The package sells for $1,990.

On the outside, the package will include a signature LED headlights, a new black grille, and lower finisher, roof rails, black rear door finisher, and door handles. Star Wars motifs are also available, notably the logo decals of the Rebel Alliance on the D-Pillar, Rogue One badging on the front doors, and a Star Wars logo on the rear bumper protector.

Other technological features include a blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, Nissan intelligent key with push-button start, and a Bluetooth Hands-Free Phone System. The car has a starting price of $24,780.

The 2017 Nissan Rogue One Star Wars Edition is powered by a 2.5-liter DOHC 16-valve inline four-cylinder engine the produces 170 HP and 175 lb-ft of torque. It includes Nissan's next-generation Xtronic transmissions with Sport and Eco Mode switches.
