Grammy nominated rapper 2 Chainz was arrested on Feb. 13 for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia after being pulled over for speeding by Maryland State Police according to Yahoo.

The rapper, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, was driving to a performance at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore when he was pulled over at 9:15 p.m. for speeding according to Police Sgt. Marc Black.

Black stated that 2 Chainz was stopped on Route 50 on Rabbit Hill Road in Talbot.

"A trooper observed (the vehicle going) over 79 miles per hour and a traffic stop was conducted," Black said according to Yahoo. "A strong odor of burned marijuana was emanating from the vehicle. Probable cause was conducted and it was found that Mr. Epps had paraphernalia on him with trace amount of marijuana."

Police then transported 2 Chainz to the Maryland Police Station barracks and issued a criminal citation for paraphernalia and possession of CVS and released on his signature. If he is found guilty, the rapper could be in jail for up to a year and may face a fine of $1,000 according to Yahoo.

2 Chainz took to Twitter to complain about the arrest, and stated the drugs and paraphernalia belonged to another member of his party, as he doesn't smoke.

The rapper then posted the picture he took with police on his Instagram with the caption "Locked me up and then Wanted pictures smh."

Black stated that the photo with the officers is being investigated for possible policy violation.

"We are looking into that," Sgt. Black said to Yahoo. "If we find that a violation of policy occurred that would be dealt with by administration."
