Pros and Features. According to Car and Driver, the new G80 is more affordable compared to similarly equipped luxury sedans. It is also spacious and features a high-quality interior. The cabin also stays quiet even at highway speeds.

The Genesis sedan also features excellent crash test scores. Additionally, it has a long warranty coverage.

Cons. The G80's suspension could use some work; it doesn't soak up road bumps as well as most of its competitors. According to The Car Connection, its rear seat headroom is also very tight.

What's New? The Genesis (formerly Hyundai Genesis) is a new name for the luxury automaker. In addition, it adds better standard features and more content packages.

Models. The new 2017 Genesis G80 comes in 2 models: a 3.8-liter V6 and a 5.0-liter V8. The 3.8 model comes with an all-wheel drive option as well as two packages: Premium and Ultimate.

The standard 3.8 G8 has 18-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights with automatic high-beam control, and LED daytime running lights. It also has a rearview camera, automatic wipers, and adaptive cruise control. The sedan also features keyless ignition and entry, as well as blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

Inside there is leather upholstery and a power-adjustable steering wheel. The car also has good tech features including a seven-speaker audio system, a navigation system, and Bluetooth connectivity.

The Premium package adds LED fog lights, front and rear parking sensors, and a panoramic sunroof. It also has dynamic parking guidelines for the rearview camera, a power rear sunshade, and a 14-speaker Lexicon sound system.

The Ultimate package adds to the Premium package. It has premium leather upholstery, a power trunk lid, a 17-speaker audio system, and a carbon-dioxide sensor for ultimate climate control.

The G80 5.0 Ultimate has all of the features of the Ultimate package minus the sunshades. It adds a 5.0-liter V8 engine, 19-inch wheels, and quad exhaust tips.

Verdict. The 2017 Genesis G80 is a good choice with plenty of features. It has fantastic styling and cutting-edge tech and a relatively affordable price point.
