As the price of gas continues to increase, people like "Top Gear" host Jeremy Clarkson are thinking outside the box to give people ideas to save money.

In a recent episode of "Top Gear," Clarkson unveiled the world's smallest car which he's deemed the P45 as an homage to the Peel P50. The mini car includes similar features to the P50, with a similar buckle-closure "body," and a helmet for a "windshield" according to The New York Post.

As you can see, Clarkson spends most of the clip screaming for his life, while also having fun inside the tiny P45. One of the more comical parts of the episode, which aired this week, is when a long line of cars forms behind the tiny vehicle, unable to move pass Clarkson.

"I can't believe how quiet these roads are this morning. I'm hardly seeing any traffic at all," said Clarkson as a huge line of cars formed behind him.

Despite being able to only go 20 mph, the vehicle is shown acting almost like a motorcycle on a few occasions. Clarkson displayed this as he weaved in and out of lanes after getting stuck in a traffic jam.

Another perk, which Clarkson shows in the episode of "Top Gear," is that you can fill the car's 1.7-liter gas tank without having to leave the vehicle. This would save a considerable amount of time for those who are used to pumping their own gas, that is unless you live in New Jersey and Oregon.

Unfortunately for Clarkson, the station he chooses in the episode has a 2-liter refill policy, something that would have to change at many stations if the vehicle was to be sold for profit.

Top Gear on average is watched by 350 million people per week and in over 170 different countries according to The New York Post. The show is currently in its 19th season and was recently profiled on "60 Minutes."

The show is aired on BBC America on Sundays at 9:00 p.m.

Despite its troubles on open roads, one has to question if the P45 could eventually become a reasonable transportation option.

So what do you think, should the P45 be made legal in the U.S, or is it too dangerous or slow to even be considered?
