Honda City competes with Maruti Ciaz in the mid-sized sedan market. On a price point, Maruti Ciaz still has the edge. But the folks over at Honda are confident that the new and improved Honda City will help them regain their leadership position in the segment.

According to Business Standard, Suzuki Ciaz managed to race up to the top spot in its segment. Ciaz has sold 53,644 units between April 2016 to January 2017. That is 19 percent higher than its closest competitor Honda City. Maruti Suzuki has managed to grow its market share in the segment from 29.1 percent in FY16 to 41.2 per cent in FY17. In January, Ciaz is the only car in its segment that has shown growth in sales. This is where its higher competitor Honda City has dropped by 21 per cent. As the competition heats up, Honda is launching its new and improved Honda City 2017.
