The 2013 baseball season may still be a few months away, but Chevrolet wants to get people excited early with the announcement that certain players from the Detroit Tigers are set to appear at three Chevrolet events this week.

Players from the American League Champion Detroit Tigers will be visiting fans, employees, and customers at the North American International Auto Show, the General Motors Heritage Center and GM's Renaissance Center headquarters according to a company press release.

Tiger players, members of the military, and their family members will be hosted at each event by Metro Detroit Chevrolet dealers. They will get a chance to tour the GM Heritage Center facility and look at classic and retired GM concept cars.

"As the Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball, we began our countdown to Opening Day in Detroit right after the World Series ended last fall," said Chris Perry, vice president, Chevrolet marketing in a press release. "We're glad to be able to share our love of baseball with fans and our customers as we launch our own all-star lineup of 13 new or significantly enhanced models in 2013."

On Friday, the players will visit the NAIAS where they will participate in a question-and-answer session at the Chevrolet display according to the press release.

Later on that day, they will go to the Wintergarden in the GM Renaissance Center where they will be introduced by Tigers broadcasters Mario Impemba and Rod Allen. Then they will be welcomed by a GM employee rally and participate in another question-and-answer session with fans.

Employees will reportedly collect and donate used baseball and softball equipment to benefit Think Detroit PAL, an organization that sponsors youth sports programs in Detroit.
