One of the hottest-selling units in the market right now is the crossover SUV, wherein the Honda CR-V is a mighty contender. Its redesign features new technology packed with improved styling to tailor-fit to the growing demands of the new generation.

Honda's leading sales when it comes to the compact crossover segment reflects the fact that the CR-V has become the standard bearer for this category. Also, Honda has given the CR-V a number of makeovers over the last couple of years since its initial outing.

According to Business Insider, the 2017 model is slightly larger compared with its predecessor. The compact crossover measures 180.6 inches long with a 104.7-inch wheelbase, meaning space will never be an issue. Despite being in the compact crossover category, this formidable vehicle feels more like an SUV.

Honda released four versions of the compact crossover, an LX, EX, EX-L, and Touring. When it comes to its engine, all 2017 CR-V comes with a brand new 1.5- liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, except for the LX model, which packs a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter engine.

Further, the turbocharged versions churn out 190 horses and 179 lb.-ft. of torque, while the naturally aspirated model on the LX is no joke churning out at 184 horsepower and 180 lb.-ft. of torque. Fuel economy is an impressive 26/32/28 mpg in the front-wheel drive version.

The CR-V is packed with premium tech such as a full LED headlights and a multiangle rearview camera. For Touring models, LED headlights are a standard, per Honda. Also, the vehicle has been improved with new technology for connectivity, convenience, and comfort.

Among the available features housed in the 2017 Honda CR-V are a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display system and a new Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System. Also, a SiriusXM Radio is available for all models. The interior is fitted with sophisticated materials with innovative touches, such as leather-trimmed seats.

Overall, the 2017 Honda CR-V is a reliable compact crossover vehicle and quite a good choice. The base price for the Touring model is at $34,530, while the other models begin at $24,870.
