More bad news is being reported about the progress of the IOS 6 untethered jailbreak as Apple users are still waiting to unlock their phones. The latest update is that iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 users shouldn't expect a jailbreak anytime soon, as it will most likely take weeks, possibly months for developers to complete the process.
The news was officially reported first by ProductReviews.com and has to be considered a disappointment for those who were expecting a jailbreak as early as last Monday. When word got out that a partial jailbreak had been accomplished by Chronic Dev team member Joshua Hill, also known as posixninja on Twitter, people thought that they would be able to free their phones no later than Black Friday. Hill is now saying however that the process has been slower than ever due to heavier iOS6 protections.
This may be bad news for Apple users, but it's good news for scam sites that have been capitalizing off of people being too impatient for a solution. Now that word has gotten around that the jailbreak isn't even close, even more sites are going to start appearing offering an untethered jailbreak.
Other devices that people have been trying to jailbreak lately include the new iPad mini, iPad 4 and iPod Touch 5G but all users need to take precaution. Most jailbreak experts know a scam site when they see one, but those who are just experiencing an Apple product for the first time may be more susceptible to scam sites. Don't download and install anything unless you are positive about the software and as of right now, no one has been able to successfully jailbreak any of the previously mentioned devices.

Another scam site has been reported by PR.com since last week under the name EasyUnlockiPhone. The site claims to have the latest iOS 6.0 untethered jailbreak for the iPad 2, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and the iPhone 5. The process costs $24.99 according to the report, and offers a 30-day money back guarantee if the jailbreak doesn't work. The process has not been tested however, but experts are almost positive the team has not accomplished a jailbreak yet and users should avoid the site for now.
As of right now, the only devices that the Dev team has been able to jailbreak is the iPod Touch 4G and iPhone 4. If you have either of these devices, you can install RedsnOw to achieve the untethered jailbreak.
