Android's Creator Is Back Into The Smartphone Industry

Andy Rubin, the man who created Android software that powers most of the world’s smartphones is taking a huge step into the smartphone business. Andy is creating a new smartphone which will have the same price of an iPhone 7.

According to CNBC, Andy Rubin is working on a suite of hardware products including a smartphone. It is believed that this smartphone will be a huge competition to Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Pixel. It is also believed that this smartphone will appear on the market and start selling mid-2017 and it will also feature and edge to edge screen. Andy Rubin’s smartphone will cost around the same price of an iPhone 7. Artificial intelligence will be included in the new device. This is just one of a number of hardware products Andy’s team is working on. Rubin’s team consists 40 engineers made up from former Alphabet and Apple employees to build this smartphone along with other mobile and smart home devices.

This essential phone will use high-end materials and properly connector for expanding functionality, Pocket Lint reported. Andy Rubin is the man who created Android operating system. He sold it to Google in 2005 and left the company in 2014. Now, Andy is planning a big comeback to the smartphone industry with his own company and a high-end smartphone. His company name is Essential Products Inc. They will work on smartphones, tablets, accessories and computer software for mobile phones under its service. Some people say Essential will develop a new mobile operating system, but they could just create a skin to run over the top of Android. It is believed that the Essential smartphone will have a bespoke connector that would charge the battery. Andy and his team are also working on a camera that can take 360-degree photos.
