To those who are fond of using Twitter in social media, there's good news! Twitter is considering to add an edit option to cater the tweets of people.
Twitter's CEO Jack Dorsey announced that they're currently thinking of adding the option to edit tweets. This is great news, considering that the edit feature is one of the most requested features that needs to be added to the website. This will allow the user to edit their tweet if they find something wrong in the moment they posted it on the website.
According to Dorsey, they are still thinking about it. There has been no information of confirmation for it. "Is it more important to edit for spelling/corrections? 5-minute window to edit mistakes or do you need to be able to edit anytime?" The CEO said.
This is something that really needs to be implemented. Once a user finds something wrong in his or her tweet, let's say, a wrong grammar tweet or wrong punctuations and capitalizations, it needs to be taken down. It is a hassle to delete a tweet once it is posted, only to replace it with the correct one. It is most efficient to edit instead of actually replacing the wrong tweet. While the subject is still being discussed over at Twitter headquarters, the public replies of Dorsey to the topic may hint that there's a high chance of actually implementing the said feature.
In May 2016, Twitter implemented a big change in their website. Website URL links will no longer eat up the 140-character limit of tweets. This is better for those who frequently share links from other website using Twitter as their medium. It lets users share more of their thoughts on it rather than spamming the Twitter feed with it because the web URL ate up the 140-characters available. The links are minimized to 23 characters, giving users the freedom of expressing their thoughts on it rather than resulting to spamming.
