Who Are The Stars Of The 2017 Detroit Auto Show

The North American International Auto Show is always a very exciting event for car enthusiasts and the automotive industry, and plenty of car companies are expected to compete each year. The 2017 Detroit Auto Show's technological theme is called AutoMobili-D and tons of new product debuts are planned in advance before the show opens to the public on Jan. 14. Without further ado, here are the most exciting models to debut in Detroit:

Audi Q8

Audi recently gave us teaser images of its new creation. Q8 is a full-sized SUV expected to make its debut in Detroit. It is a coupe version of the current Q7 but with more space. Its many styling cues is based on the company's Quattro. However, this is just a concept and no one knows exactly how Audi is going to play its concept in reality.

BMW 5 Series

BMW already gave us the idea about the redesigned 2017 5 Series, but the car appears to show its beauty for the first time in Detroit. The new 5 Series includes the 540i, 530e iPerformance plug-in hybrid, and a more powered M550i xDrive. BMW also plans to preview its X2 crossover concept.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe

Just like the abovementioned cars, Mercedes-Benz recently revealed its all-new 2018 E-Class Coupe. The beauty is likely to become a rival for the likes of the Audi A7 Sportback and BMW 6 Series. According to the automaker, comparing this to the model it replaces, the new two-door coupe has more space and has more power.

Lexus LS

Lexus only revealed little details on the its Lexus LS. The company released its new flagship saloon only in a form of drawing. The company said that their new fifth-generation car is based on the same platform as the new LC coupe and should make "more dynamic driving experience."

KIA GT

KIA continues to reassure people with the expected reveal of their new car called the GT. KIA proudly announced that this will be the fastest-accelerating Kia-branded car ever, but it's yet to confirm just how fast it can go. Kia continues to whet our appetite and then expect us to come to the event to see what dish they can serve up in the Kia menu.

There are more stars that are said to appear in this event including Chrysler and Google's self-driving Pacifica car project, Waymo. It is said to debut during the AutoMobili-D portion of the auto show. Google's self-driving car is now in its seventh year and was named as Waymo in early December.

NAIAS announced that Pixar Animation Studios will participate in the event as well. They will host a press conference on Sunday to give an early look on their upcoming film "Cars 3". We can expect to see Lightning McQueen in real life.
