Lucid Motors Fuses With Mobileye To Create Autonomous Lucid Air Electric Vehicle

After the Mobileye and Tesla Motors issues, the former has confirmed its partnership with Lucid Motors as its supplier for autonomous driving technology. As the Lucid Motors electric vehicle is under production, it will install several features such as cameras, lidar, and radar along with the Mobileye EyeQ4 system-on-chips.

Self-driving cars have been considered the trending vehicles of 2017. With that, Mobileye has decided to be in partnership with Lucid Motors as it aims to be the best competition of Tesla Motors Inc., the leading manufacturer of self-driving cars while Mobileye had issues with before. The two companies have likewise agreed to create self-driving vehicles installed with the latest technologies in the future, reported Market Exclusive

Aiming to be a part of the luxury brands, the increased investment of major automakers have urged Mobileye and Lucid Motors to create advancements in technological features their self-driving cars would cater to, such as the autopilot once installed by Mobileye for Tesla Motors. These technological advancements were said to include camera technology which would be significantly important for enhancing automated driving. The said production of these vehicles were lodged on 2018.

In other news, Auto Blog reported that the Lucid Air electric vehicle would likewise be installed with lidar, radar, and eight cameras along with the Mobileye EyeQ4 system-on-chips for its camera data while the MObileye sensor fusion software would maneuver the radar and lidar input. Furthermore, the Mobileye REM system and Global Roadbook mapping system will also be a part of the model which would localize the data collected.

With these planned out technological advancements with the Mobileye partnership, the Lucid Air electric vehicle would have an Advanced Driver Assistance System and could possibly emerge as an autonomous driving car with impressive technological updates. Furthermore, it would enable Lucid Motors to be more competitive against its toughest competition in the market for electric cars, Tesla Motors.
