Robert Pattinson to Appear on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” in First Post-Kristen Stewart Interview

Much was made of "Good Morning America's" scoring the first interview with Robert Pattinson after Kristen Stewart broke his heart, but it is in fact going to be "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" that scores his first reemergence into the media spotlight.

The purpose of Pattinson's appearance is to promote his new movie Cosmopolis.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the urbane Comedy Central chat show will have the emotionally bruised heartthrob as a guest on Monday, August 13, two days before ABC's morning show.

"The Daily Show", hosted by comedian Stewart, tends more toward authors, politicians, and political commentators as guests, but it also has entertainment personalities. Pattinson appeared on the show in March of 2010.

"Good Morning America" is hosted by Robin Roberts, who is currently on medical leave for a blood and bone disorder, and George Stephanopoulos.

Pattinson, 26, shot to fame as angsty teenaged vampire Edward Cullen in 2008's Twilight. He had a well-known but unconfirmed relationship with costar Kristen Stewart that apparently ended amid a flurry of scandal last month.

Us Weekly posted photos of Stewart, 22, canoodling with Rupert Sanders, 41, who had recently directed her starring turn in Snow White and the Huntsman. Sanders is married to actress Liberty Ross, who also appeared in the film, and has two children.

After being caught, Stewart released the following statement to People Magazine:  "This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."

It was reported soon after that Pattinson had moved out of the Los Angeles home the couple had shared.
