Maltese Electric Sports Car Revealed: The Very First Electric Sports Car in Malta

A Maltese firm will soon introduce the very first electric sports car in their country. The Valene Black Mamba Project is now in the advanced stage of developing the prototype. 

According to the Times of Malta, the up and coming model might have a maximum potential output of 810bhp. On the other hand, Silex Power, the company behind the project, stated that they aim to distribute the units in 2017.

The product has an unofficial name of "Black Mamba." As for the features, it will have a 80kW motor with an output of 107 bhp. The car would also have an up to 500 kilometres autonomy on a single charge with its 50kWh battery pack.

The price of the first Maltese electric sports car starts at €35,000 and will definitely go up depending on the add-onsa and upgrades. On the other hand, Malta Today reported that the first 50 pre-orders will also receive a free sound system upgrade to the Clarion Full Digital system, which normally costs € 3,000. 

Meanwhile, Jonathan Grech, the creator, said that the new product will offer more stability than the existing three-wheel vehicles.

"Our main objective is to bring to our customers the best that modern technology has to offer, all packaged in one exciting vehicle," he said in a statement. "The Black Mamba is a technologically advanced vehicle in its simplicity, offering unrivalled performance, safety, looks and best of all, a truly unique driving experience. 

Mr. Grech also added that The Black Mamba is a superlight sports car that caters to those who wants to have a performance vehicle. "Think of driving it as experiencing all the excitement of a motorbike, however with the safety and comfort that only a car can offer," he said further.
