Actress Lindsay Lohan crashed a brand-new Porsche 911 into a dump truck on Friday and could be investigated for lying to the police.

Lohan was driving the rented Porsche, with her assistant in the front seat, on the Pacific Coast Highway when she rear-ended the truck. The crash severely damaged the luxury car, which retails at about $80,000.

The Santa Monica police department issued a press release regarding the incident. "A preliminary investigation revealed that both vehicles were driving northbound on Pacific Coast Highway when the Porsche struck the rear end of the dump truck," it read. "Cause of the accident is under investigation.

"The driver of the dump truck was uninjured and was determined to not be impaired. The occupants of the black Porsche were determined to not be impaired and were transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Investigators are attempting to determine the driver of the black Porsche at the time of the collision."

But the news doesn't end for the troubled actress. According to a report from TMZ.com, Lohan is being investigated for lying to the police. The report states that Lohan lied to the police by telling them that she was not the one driving the car.

In addition, the driver of the dump truck alleges that Lohan's team tried to stop him from reporting the incident by offering a bride, but he had already called the police.

Lohan's reps denied this claim in a statement released on Sunday.  "It seems to me once he realized he wasn't going to get anything from Lindsay he decided to get cash by telling tales to the tabloids. I hope he got whatever money he was looking for. Personally, all I care about is that Lindsay and [her assistant] Gavin are okay."

Lohan is currently under probation and any run-in with the law could have her sent back to jail.
