Fuji made an official announcement on Monday that it longer has plans to build cars as part of a growth plan for the next five years.

As part of the growth plan, the Fuji Heavy lowered its global sales to only 50,000 vehicles. The auto maker under Subaru Motors has been planning to cut out the growth plans for the next five years since July 2011.

The decision came in the wake of the automaker's plan to improve the sales to 90,000 from 2016. Fuji said that it will continue to import cars to China after an unsuccessful venture to gain approval from the Chinese Government in the matter of collaborating for a joint venture with the local car maker Chery Automobile Limited to build cars locally.

It can be recalled that almost all the major automakers in the world are attempting to have their own joint venture with the local companies in the China since the exhibition of their favorite vehicles at the Beijing International Auto Show. But the Chinese Government seemed to be heading in a completely different direction. The Beijing Government has tightened the on the issue of joint venture between the foreign car makers and the local car makers.

"We always welcome the decision by the Beijing Government. We also adhere to their decision on the foreign car makers collaborating with the Chinese automakers. We are in patience and we'll wait for many years to come to make a grand entry into the Chinese roads. We still haven't given up on the production in China," said Yasuyuki Yoshinaga, President and Chief Operating Officer of Subaru Motors.

He also made a comment that the Subaru Motors had a great plan for the Chinese auto market. One of them was to become the world's highest car producer in China, but it is longer realistic with the decision by the Beijing Government.
