Comedian Tracy Morgan was released from a rehabilitation center to finish his recovery from a New Jersey car crash at home, said Lewis Kay, a spokesman for Morgan, to Reuters.

The news comes just a couple of days after the "30 Rock" actor sued Wal-Mart Stores Inc for negligence.

Morgan, 45, was critically injured in June during a crash near Cranbury, New Jersey, when a Wal-Mart truck hit the back of a Mercedes limo bus carrying Morgan and several others passengers, causing it to flip over.

Before being released, the actor had been recovering at an undisclosed rehabilitation center.

"He asked me to pass along his sincerest gratitude to everyone who has helped him get to this point," Kay said, according to KTLA.com. "He would also appreciate some privacy during this crucial point in his recovery."

After the crash, Morgan was airlifted from the scene to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey, in critical condition.

A passenger of the limo van, comedian James "Jimmy Mack" McNair, was killed in the crash, according to Reuters.

Besides the limo bus, a total of two tractor-trailers, a sport utility vehicle and two cars were involved in the crash, Sergeant Williams said, according to The New York Times.

Morgan joined SNL in 1996 and was on the sketch-comedy NBC show for seven years before joining "30 Rock," which was created by his former SNL co-star Tina Fey.

"We are deeply sorry that one of our trucks was involved. As we've said, we're cooperating fully in the ongoing investigation," Wal-Mart said in a statement last month. "We know it will take some time to resolve all of the remaining issues as a result of the accident, but we're committed to doing the right thing for all involved."

David Glassman, the attorney for Wal-Mart truck driver Kevin Roper, entered a plea of not guilty on his client's behalf before Superior Court Judge Bradley Ferencz in New Brunswick, N.J.

Roper was charged with one count of vehicular homicide and assault by auto against four individuals, according to Assistant Prosecutor Sheree Pitchford, who spoke with USA Today.

The driver, Kevin Roper, 35, had supposedly not slept for over 24 hours before he got behind the wheel of his truck, prosecutors said in a criminal complaint.
