Indio Downey, the son of actor Robert Downey Jr. was arrested Sunday after a traffic stop allegedly revealed that the 20-year-old was in possession of cocaine.

Taken in on felony narcotics charges, Downey was arrested around 2 p.m. Sunday in West Hollywood, CBS Los Angeles reported.

The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department has not released further details; however, officers reportedly saw someone in the vehicle "smoking something out of a pipe," according to a report from Contra Costa Times.

Downey, who was a passenger in the vehicle that was pulled over, posted $10,250 bail and was released around midnight. His court date has been set for Aug. 29.

He could be struggling with problems similar to those of his famous father, as Robert Downey Jr. battled a long-time struggle with drug addictions that saw him arrested several times. The "Iron Man" actor eventually triumphed by becoming sober in the early 2000s.

"Unfortunately, there's a genetic component to addiction and Indio has likely inherited it," Robert Downey, Jr. said in a statement quoted by CBS. "We're grateful to the Sheriff's Department for their intervention, and believe Indio can be another recovery success story instead of a cautionary tale."
