Ford has announced that its 2014 Mustang coupe recently earned a four-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Ford's latest Mustang earned five stars in the rollover crash test, and four stars in the front and side crash tests, according to the safety administration.
Five stars is the highest rating a vehicle can receive.
Standard safety features found on the new Mustang includes electronic stability control and antilock brakes.
The 2014 Ford Mustang convertible and the redesigned 2015 Mustang have both not been rated by NHTSA.
The 2014 Mustang coupe earned "Good" ratings in every crash test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety
It also received an "Acceptable" rating in the difficult side crash test as well, according to the IIHS.
The 2014 Mustang competes with a number of similar cars including the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger.
