General Motors has announced that the 2014 Buick Verano compact sedan will be sold for a base price of $24,625, including a $925 shipping fee.

The price reflects a $650 increase compared to the 2013 model.

The 2014 Verano is a carryover model, though it will come with some minor enhancements compared to its predecessor.

Confirmed updates for the 2014 Verano includes: a standard universal home remote with three-channel programmable garage door opener for Convenience, Leather and Turbo models, according to the automaker.

Heated front seats are also standard on those models.

A new Smoky Gray Metallic exterior color can also be expected for the Buick Verano.

New safety features available for the Verano includes: lane-departure warning systems and forward collision alert, according to the automaker.

Another new feature for the 2014 is that iPhone users will also be able to access Siri voice control through a button on the steering wheel.

This feature was designed to help lower the amount of crashes that occur every year due to distracted driving. The button allows Apple users to make calls, access music, send texts, and check voice mails, all without having to look at there phones.

The Verano is expected to compete in the same segment that includes similar vehicles like the 2014 Acura ILX, Lexus IS 250 and Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class.
