Fox News Climate Change Coverage Usually Misleading

A new study released by the Union of Concerned Scientists claims if you want to learn about climate change, don't trust Fox News.

Last year, the Fox News covered approximately climate science topics 50 times, and 72 percent of the time those features included "misleading information," according to the study.

Sadly enough, this number is an improvement from 2012, when the network's climate change coverage was incorrect a whopping 93 percent of the time.

"Sometimes, it's like the networks are covering different planets," said Aaron Huertas, a science communications officer at UCS who led the study, in a statement. "Unfortunately, too many politicians, interest groups, and pundits continue to dispute established climate science and cable shows sometimes give them a platform to do so."

Research shows that MSNBC is the most trusting network when it comes to climate change coverage.

The network covered climate science stories 132 times last year, and 92 percent of those features included correct statements, according to the study.

The report also included CNN, which fell between Fox News and MSNBC.

The network's climate coverage was correct 70 percent of the time, according to the study.

Fox News, MSNBC and CNN are the most watched cable news channel in the U.S.
