The 2014 Dodge Charger recently earned a five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Five-stars is the highest rating a vehicle can earn from the NHTSA.
The 2014 Charger received five stars in side impact and rollover crash tests, and four stars in the front crash test.
The NHTSA said the rating applies to all-wheel-drive and front-wheel-drive versions of the vehicle, according to the NHTSA.
Standard safety equipment found on the Charger includes a driver's knee airbag, hill-start assist, rain brake support, ready alert braking, and electronic stability control.
The Charger competes with similar vehicles like the 2014 Chevrolet Impala and Chrysler 300.
The 2014 Charger also received "Good" ratings in every crash test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, including the difficult moderate overlap crash test.
The 2014 Dodge Charger SRT has not been rated by NHTSA yet however, according to the automaker.
