Zachary Quinto, who plays Spock in the new "Star Trek" films, finally squared off against his predecessor, Leonard Nimoy, who played Spock in the hit 1960's television show, in a new Audi ad that has gone viral in a matter of days.
Nimoy was the first Spock in the "Star Trek" TV series that ran from 1966-1969, but has failed to remain as popular as some of his co-stars like William Shatner, who played Captain Kurk, and has appeared in a number of television shows and TV commercials since the show ran its course.
In the two-and-a-half minute ad, we see Nimoy and Quinto face off in a battle of 3-D chess on an iPad before Quinto suggests they play a round of golf. They agree that the last one to the golf course has to buy lunch.
"Stand by to have your wallet emptied by a tractor beam!" Nimoy states before both head to their cars.
Quinto, driving a new Audi, makes it to the course a lot quicker than Nimoy, who struggled getting his golf bag in his car and was able to sing his 1967 single "The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins" before arriving.
While Quinto jokes about arriving first to the course, Nimoy has the last laugh, as he is seen giving Quinto the famous Vulcan nerve pinch outside the golf course, before promptly walking inside to win the bet.
The ad has been seen on Audi's page almost 2 million times since being released on May 6.
"Star Trek Into Darkness" hits theatres in the U.S. on May 17.
