Microsoft announced that it will soon release the Microsoft Surface Laptop which aims to be the thinnest laptop fit for students. Reviewers believe that it is can be matched against Apple's MacBook Pro.With a $999 price tag, this new Microsoft laptop needs to have quality and impressive specs to match the price.

This new product from Microsoft weights 1.25 kg and measures 308.1mmX 223.27X14.48 mm. It also offers a Touchscreen display, unlike its rival Apple MacBook Pro.

The Microsoft Surface Laptop will carry the newly launched Windows 10 S. It is a slicker version of the Microsoft 10 which was updated last month.

The new laptop promises a more secure and faster system because it accepts only the prescreened apps found in the Windows App store. But with a lot of useful apps out there that can help students, this can somehow affect the Surface laptops' popularity. Luckily, Microsoft is offering a free upgrade until December 3. This will allow users to switch their systems to Microsoft 10 Pro and allow them to install programs from different App stores.

The cheapest Microsoft Surface laptop has a Core i5 processor with 4GB RAM 128GB SSD. While the other i5 model has an 8GB RAM 256GB SSD valued at $1,299. The i7 has an 8GB RAM 256GB SSD for $1,599 and the i7 16GB 512 GB is sold at a whopping price tag of $2,199. It can really compete with MacBook Pro models in terms of specifications.

When it comes to design the Microsoft Surface Laptop has a 13.5" PixelSense screen with a 3:2 aspect ratio. It is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Its keyboard is protected from spills and stains with an Alcantara fabric. As for color options, Microsoft offers 4 interesting choices. Buyers can choose from Burgundy, Cobalt Blue, Graphite Gold, and Platinum.

Good news! The Microsoft Surface Laptop will be released on June 15, 2017. But for those who can't wait to buy this new offering of Microsoft, you can have it preordered on their website.
