The release date schedules for the hottest, high-profile and highly anticipated movies have recently been unleashed for all of us to mark our calendars. These films include the sequels to "Avatar," "Deadpool 2," another X-Men movie, and of course the rise of the Phoenix, Jean Grey's story.

"Avatar" sequel. There will be four sequels to James Cameron's blockbuster hit "Avatar." On Dec. 18, 2020, will be the first premiere, then will be followed on Dec. 17, 2021, and then on Dec. 20, 2024. The last sequel will be on Dec. 19, 2025.

Note that all 4 of the "Avatar" sequels are being filmed at the same time. And production is finally underway.

The movie's star, Sam Worthington, said that "Avatar 2" will emphasize what James Cameron has previously said before: the family. "This is going to be Jake [Sully, Worthington's character] eight years later, and he's got a family now," said Worthington. He added that the world of Avatar is bigger compared with the first one, but it's still a movie about family.

"Avatar" (2009) is still the highest-grossing movie of all time, with a total of $2.78 billion at the global box office. Thus, the following installment of the film is such a big task for Cameron.

Dark Phoenix and X-Men. It has been confirmed by 20th Century Fox that they will be revisiting Jean Grey's storyline as the Dark Phoenix will rise again. Hailed as the sequel to "X-Men Apocalypse," this will hit theaters on Nov. 2, 2018.

Meanwhile, another superhero movie will also hit screens just before that. The "New Mutants" movie from Josh Boone ("The Fault in Our Stars") will be arriving on April 13, 2018. And he promises that there will be "YA vibe" and "familiar faces."

"Deadpool 2." Fox has finally announced that the sequel to "Deadpool" will finally hit the screens on June 1, 2018. Also, Josh Brolin recently signed a 4-film deal to play Cable, of course beginning with the upcoming sequel.

Also appearing in the film is Zazie Beetz as Domino. The film will be directed by David Leitch and will still star Ryan Reynolds.

2018 is jam-packed with action hero films. But it is still a long time for that, so check out the trailer for "Deadpool 2" below, which was released in theaters with Hugh Jackman's "Logan."
