The new 2017 Hyundai Veloster is a compact car that has a unique characteristic. Instead of being a two-door or a four-door with a hatchback, the company decided to go with a three-door hatchback.

For 2017, joining the Veloster lineup is the Hyundai Veloster Value Edition. The new Value Edition comes with many of the options that are available in the Turbo, but the standard 1.6-liter engine only powers it.

The 2017 Hyundai Veloster is offered in four trim levels. It starts with the base Veloster that comes well equipped with features. The Value Edition adds some premium features that are seen on the Turbo. The Turbo R-Spec comes with sport-tuned suspension, manual transmission, and R-Spec specific interior bits. The steering wheel mounted paddle shifters also comes standard which controls the standard six-speed, dual clutch automatic transmission.

The Turbo R-Spec is equipped more like the base version, but it's powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine that makes 201 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque. It also comes with an aerodynamic body kit, projector headlights, and unique interior trim.

Lastly, the Turbo retains the turbocharged engine and has a dual-clutch automatic as an option. It has a more comfortable suspension setup compared to the other trim levels. On the inside, it offers leather seating surfaces and an upgraded gauge cluster. Owners need to get the optional Turbo Tech Package to get the panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and navigation system.
