The 2017 Volkswagen ID Crozz Concept is the third electrically powered crossover utility vehicle. It is also a four-door coupe and sports utility vehicle in one.

This futuristic VW Concept comes with big wheels, low roof line, and a glowing badge logo that is based on the company's new Modular Electric Drive Matrix MEB electric vehicle architecture. It follows the inception of the I.D in Paris last 2016 and I.D Buzz in Detroit this year.

Like its I.D antecedents, 2017 Volkswagen ID Crozz Concept uses the brand's new EV-specific MEB platform with a 109.2-inch wheelbase and an overall length of 182.1 inches. The I.D Crozz is dimensionally identical to the 2018 Tiguan that Volkswagen will soon release in the market.

The vehicle's interior hides an 83-kWh lithium-ion battery that is located below the floor with a fabricating space and ensuring a low center of gravity. This I.D Crozz has a top speed rating of 112mph that comes with a 150kW fast charger and a high-performance battery that can be recharge to 80 percent within 30 minutes.

There are also features of this car that provides easy access for the drivers in controlling the car. Once seated, the driver can either take control of the vehicle's wheel or waived driving duties by pressing the steering wheel's Volkswagen logo to activate the I.D Pilot autonomous-driving mode. To resume the control of the car, the driver may have to press the steering wheel logo or tap either the brake or accelerator.

The car's zero-emissions all-round packs two electric motors, a 201-hp compact motor at the back and a 101-hp coaxial drive system up front for a merged 302 horsepower. Meanwhile, Crozz's 18-cubic-foot cargo hold is also approached through a steeply angled rear hatch.

Volkswagen has put some serious work into the lighting of its new notion. A 360-degree light show greets the driver, the LED lights emulate the human eye and at the same time can be set to wink at the driver. The Full production of this 2017 Volkswagen ID Crozz Concept will begin in 2020, but for now, car lovers can have a closer look at the vehicle in the upcoming 2017 Auto Shanghai event.
