When the 2018 Honda Civic Type R was introduced to the motoring public during the 2017 Geneva Motor Show last month, a lot of its patrons did not expect that the fabulous car will reach the U.S. soil. Honda again introduced the car during the 2017 New York Auto Show, and it became definite that it will be marketed in the U.S.

The car was designed for comfort with the American taste in mind. Its drive modes are verified for U.S. driving style and roads.

The 2018 Honda Civic Type R has a 306 hp 2.0 Liter, in-line 4 engine as its main power source. It will be paired to a six-speed manual gearbox powering its 2 front wheels for easy maneuverability.

Acceleration from 0 to 60 miles per hour will be only around 5.7 seconds. Some critics are saying that the new model was over designed by the car manufacturer.

The car is indeed very eye-catching when shown to the American public. But the motif of the car development is that it should not stand out on its own. It is targeting to compete with top seller Ford Forrester in term of sales.

With the 2018 Honda Civic R beauty and power, it basically stole the Honda show during the 2017 New York Auto Show last week.

The car took away the limelight from the other models, Honda Clarity PHEV and EV. It is moderately priced in the mid $30,000 as the company announced weeks ago.

Unlike its predecessors, the 2018 Honda Civic Type R will be indeed be sold to the American market. Honda will definitely announce as soon as possible the prices, its all-around specs, total performances, and available trims would come out. The targeted release of the new car is around spring time 2017.
