Michael Schumacher may not be active on the race track but latest reports reveal his son, Mick, has begun following his footsteps. Mick Schumacher has just made his debut at the Formula Three at Silverstone this weekend.

Updates on the health progress of Michael Schumacher may have been scarce but new reports on his son are now circulating the web. It seems that Formula 1 fans will have a new race driver to love as the son of the F1 champion has already begun his journey in the beginners' track too.

Mick Schumacher joined the Formula Three competition this weekend. This race is said to be the "feeder formula" for neophytes to get a first taste of the rigorous tracks prior to heading to the bigger race.

Unfortunately, Mick Schumacher did not finish first in the race. However, he had a good start by finishing sixth, eighth and 18th in the race this weekend.

In the said race, the young racer encountered an unexpected spin. Fortunately, the incident was too minor that he was able to get back on the track immediately.

Michael Schumacher's son turned out to be still very hopeful of his brighter future in the race. Mick Schumacher said he aims to win in the "next few years....of course."

The young racer's aim is not impossible to achieve. He emphasized that his role model is his father. Reports say that Mick Schumacher further adds that his father is his idol, "simply because it is the best."

Mick Schumacher's description of his father is not biased at all for it has been confirmed by other racers as well. As previously reported, Michael Schumacher's former Ferrari team-mate Eddie Irvine has described the injured champion to be the greatest driver of his time.

Meanwhile, Mick Schumacher has just turned 18 last month. He has joined the Formula Four competition prior to making his debut at the Formula three.

Mercedes-Benz has already booked Michael Schumacher's son for a junior ambassador's role too. When the time is right, the F1 champion's son may work his way to the Formula One track as well. Hopefully, Michael Schumacher will be up and about to personally cheer for his son in the future races as well.
